Rockwall Offers Children’s Swim Lessons
The City of Rockwall’s Parks & Recreation Department will offer an American Red Cross Learn to Swim program in coming weeks. Classes will be at the Myers Park Pool Mondays through Thursdays for two weeks for children ages six months to 12 years. Additionally, free swim lessons will be offered as the Gloria Williams Park Pool Monday through Friday for one week at a time. Space and class times are limited. Republican Women Plan Candidate Forum
The Rockwall County Republican Women ACTIVE Committee will host a candidate forum beginning at 6:30 p.m. April 21 at the Historic Courthouse, 101 E. Rusk, in downtown Rockwall. American Legion Post Plans Meeting

Library Plans to close early for Easter.
The Rockwall County Library will be closed April 22-23 in observance of the Easter Holiday. The facility will reopen at 10 a.m. April 25.

Fun Run Rally to Benefit ACS
The Rockwall Fun Run Rally, an American Cancer Society fundraiser, is set for April 23. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. at East Texas Choppers in Terrell. Cost will be $25 per head. First group out at 11 a.m., with event ending at starting location at 3 p.m. All motorcycles, antiques, classics, and custom cars welcome. Taste of Rockwall & Business Expo Scheduled
The 18thAnnual Taste of Rockwall and Business Expo, co-hosted by the Rockwall Noon Rotary Club and the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 28 at Rockwall High. Rockwall Plans Hazardous Waste Day
Rockwall residents will have the opportunity to dispose of household chemicals and other hazardous waste items from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 30 at 1600 Airport Road. To participate, local residents must bring a copy of their utility bill or driver’s license to verify residency.

Fulton School to Host Gala April 30
The Fulton School will host its Gala fundraiser, Escape to Magaritaville!, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 30 at the Hella Shiner Grand Ballroom, Garland. The event will feature a bar, Hula dancers, a limbo contest, and will open with an hors d’oeuvres reception. A seated dinner will follow, featuring live music and a live/silent auction. A rummage sale to benefit March of Dimes will be conducted May 6-7 at 1313 S. State Hwy. 205. Donations of items for sale are needed. Rockwall Farmers’ Market to Open
This year’s Rockwall Farmer’s Market will be open at 8 a.m. starting May 7 on the courthouse square. Items to be offered will include organic lettuce, fruits, vegetables, eggs, dairy products, meat, chicken, milk, tamales, and gluten free products. The Market will be open each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Event to Benefit ALS Research
Kickin’ ALS, A Lone Star Celebration will begin at 7 p.m. May 7 at the Eddie Deens Ranch in Dallas. Sponsored by the Dallas Chapter of MDA, the event will raise funds for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) research and will feature dinner, country music and dancing, a silent auction, and other activities.

Older Americans Day Event Set
The Rockwall County Committee on Aging is preparing to host an Older Americans Day celebration beginning at 1 p.m. May 20 at the Rockwall County Library, 1215 Yellow Jacket Lane, Rockwall. Theme will be Older Americans: Connecting the Community. Each year Rockwall County organizations, the five city mayors, city governments, and individuals nominate outstanding seniors to receive an award for making a difference in the community at large.

The city of Rockwall’s historic downtown square will pay host to the annual Founders Day Festival May 21 beginning at 10 a.m. Vendor Booths, children’s activities, food, entertainment, and a sunset concert are planned. ‘Always…Patsy Cline’ Slated May 21
A single performance of “Always…Patsy Cline” will be performed at the Royse City HS auditorium on May 21. Tammie White will star as Patsy Cline and Carolyn Thumann as Louise. The funny and touching show celebrates the career and life of the singer of “I Fall to Pieces,” “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “Walkin’ After Midnight,” and “Crazy.” Tickets cost $10 and may be purchased at the Royse City Chamber of Commerce office at 216 N.
